NO MORE HURRICANES!
I've had enough of these hurricanes! We have been bombarded with one storm after another. First it was Katrina, now Rita is making her presence known.
Any hurricane making landfall is going to inflict widespread damage, and in the past week Hurricane Rita actually reached category 5 status. Fortunately, Rita lost some of her strength before making landfall early Saturday morning. Despite this loss of strength, Rita still imposed major damage along the Gulf Coast.
I'd like to see New Orleans rebuilt on a hill! I know the city's history, city pride, etc., I just don't trust those dikes and levy's. Looks like the taxpayers will shell out billions to rebuild New Orleans, only to have another storm come through and do the same sort of damage.
By the way, hurricane season officially runs through November 30th.
