Labor Day Weekend
It was a long weekend. Maybe I'm getting older, but this year's Jerry Lewis MDA Telethon took a toll on me. We had a very good telethon despite the fact that money is tough to come by these days. Devestating Hurricane Katrina combined with the highest gas prices ever--many folks are simply trying to get by.
I'm still in awe at the images coming out of Louisiana. I'm not that interested in the "blame game" at this point. Let's get those needs met, then we can start looking into what happened, who dropped the ball, etc.
Turning to sports, I was disappointed to see the University of Memphis Tigers lose to Ole Miss. I missed most of the game since the telethon was on air. But I did see Saturday's lackluster performance by the Tennessee Vols. They better show some improvement fast or the Gators will each their lunch on September 17th.
